Midlake Builders is a full-service residential custom home builder established in 1987 by Robert (Bob) Schmerheim.
Our goal is for each homeowner to enjoy the entire building process and to end up with a custom home of exceptional quality that surpasses all expectations. Bob has been known to tell customers, "I'll drink the Maalox; you enjoy the experience!"
In order to achieve this goal, Midlake Builders takes on a limited number of projects each year so that each homeowner receives the same consistent high-quality personal service our reputation has been built on. Bob believes in working closely with each homeowner throughout every phase of the building process, and personally supervises each and every project. He believes that by employing top quality people in his company, Midlake Builders can continue to provide each homeowner with a product of exceptional quality and craftsmanship that is second to none.
Midlake Builders has received the majority of its customers through referrals from satisfied home- owners and established architects throughout the region. We have maintained our reputation as one of the best home builders in the area because of our attention to detail and dedication to excellence.
In August 2007, Midlake Builders opened an additional office in Traverse City to better serve our growing clientele. We are offering customers a design/build option which offers them the luxury of having access to both their builder and their architect at one convenient location.
